Declawing a cat is, in itself, an extremely cruel act. Claws are integral to a cat's life. Besides that, the process of declawing literally amputates part of the cat's paw. On Reddit's /r/amitheasshole subreddit, /u/Weickzj explains that he adopted a cat from his sister. According to him, the cat had stopped using the litter box after being declawed. She didn't want it anymore, so he went ahead and rescued it. Months later, the man celebrates his birthday with his family at his apartment. Somebody notices that there's no litter box, the man explains that the cat doesn't use one because it's declawed, and then trouble begins. The family accuses the man of animal cruelty. That includes his sister who actually declawed the cat. Obviously, he exposes his sister. This only makes things worse. His sister storms out and his mother has the audacity to blame him for ruining the night.
Is this man in the wrong for exposing his sister? Unquestionably not. Absolutely everyone on the subreddit agreed that he was not the "A-Hole" and that he made the right call.
